Secure a SIWES Placement in 2026.

Let’s be honest. Most students dread their SIWES period.

You show up at a company, they hand you a logbook, and for the next three to six months your biggest assignment is remembering to get your supervisor’s signature. You leave with a stamped form and nothing else. No skill. No experience worth mentioning. No edge over the thousands of other graduates entering the job market the same year you do.

That scenario plays out every year across Nigeria, in Lagos, in Abuja, in Kano, in Ibadan, in Port Harcourt. And most students accept it because they think that is just how SIWES works.

It does not have to be.

HiiT PLC Added a “+” to Your SIWES — Here Is What That Means

HiiT PLC has been training ICT professionals in Nigeria since 1996. Over 130,000 graduates have passed through our programs. Over 33,000 professionals have been trained on our online instructor-led platforms. We are registered and accredited by the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN), and every one of our branches holds that accreditation.

When students started coming to us for SIWES placements, we made a decision: we were not going to offer the same uninspiring experience they could get anywhere else. We redesigned the entire model.

We called it SIWES+.

SIWES+ is not just industrial attachment. It is a structured, skills-first program that gives you real technical training, a mentoring relationship with industry professionals, entrepreneurship capacity building, and a SIWES Defence Methodology that helps you walk into your defence and score the kind of grade your school supervisor did not expect.

You come in as a student. You leave as someone with something to show for it.

Where You Can Do Your SIWES with HiiT PLC

One of the most common questions we get is: “Do you have a branch near me?”

If you are in any of Nigeria’s major student cities, the answer is yes.

Lagos — We have two training centres in Lagos. One in Ikeja at 94 Obafemi Awolowo Way, and one in Lekki at Bakky Plaza, Lekki Phase 2 Agungi. Whether you are on the mainland or the island, there is a HiiT branch close to you.

Abuja — Our Abuja training centre is at Coscharis Plaza, Plot 1070, Faskari Crescent, Area 3, Garki — right by GTBank. If you are a student looking for SIWES placement in Abuja, this is one of the most structured options available to you in the FCT.

Ibadan — Our Ibadan branch is at Choice Plaza, Challenge Road. Students from UI, OOU, Lead City, Landmark and other Ibadan institutions regularly do their SIWES with us here.

Kano — Our Kano branch at Al-USabs House, Zaria Road serves students across the north. If you are looking for SIWES placement in Kano with actual IT skill development, this is where you want to be.

Port Harcourt — We recently opened a dedicated SIWES Administration Office in Port Harcourt at 21 Bekwere Wosu Street, D-Line, Diobu. Port Harcourt has a huge student population and the demand for quality SIWES placement in Rivers State has been growing fast. We are here for it.

And for students who are not close to any of these locations or who simply prefer the flexibility our Online and Hybrid options mean you can do a full, certified SIWES+ program from wherever you are in Nigeria.

Six Tech Paths. You Choose Yours.

When you register for SIWES+ at HiiT PLC, you choose an Area of Specialization — a focused tech track that shapes everything you learn during your internship period.

We offer six areas: Web Development, Software Development, Cybersecurity, Data Analysis, Cloud Computing, and Hardware and Networking.

You are not dipping your toes into all of them. You are going deep into one, building real competence, working on real projects, and coming out with a portfolio entry that actually means something when you sit in front of a recruiter.

Every student, regardless of which path they choose, also gets Digital Marketing training, Digital Literacy, monthly Emotional Intelligence and Entrepreneurship webinars, and access to quarterly Industry Technology sessions. Three additional free courses are included in every registration. No extra payment required.

Three Ways to Do SIWES+ — Pick What Works for Your Life

Not everyone can show up at a physical location five days a week. HiiT PLC built SIWES+ to meet students where they are.

Onsite is for students who want the full classroom experience. You attend your nearest HiiT branch regularly, learn side by side with other interns, and get the most hands-on environment we offer. If you are in Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan or Kano and you want maximum structure and face time with instructors, Onsite is your best fit.

Hybrid blends online learning with monthly in-person sessions at your nearest branch. You get the flexibility of learning from home most of the time, with the accountability and community of showing up physically once a month. It is ideal for students managing a commute or other commitments alongside their SIWES period.

Online is 100% remote. All your classes, materials, and instructor sessions happen digitally. You maintain a digital logbook and only visit a branch when your school supervisor schedules a visit. This option was built for students far from our branches — and for those in cities like Port Harcourt who want to participate in SIWES+ while we continue to grow our physical presence there.

All three options lead to the same outcome: a certified, structured internship with real skills, real mentoring, and a defence-ready logbook.

The Part Most Students Find Out Too Late

Here is something we do not hide: HiiT PLC cannot take everyone.

We run SIWES+ as a premium program, not a volume business. Our instructors are actual industry professionals. Our sessions are structured and supervised. Our intake per location per cycle is deliberately limited so that the quality of attention every student receives stays high.

What that means in practice is this: every registration season, we fill up. Students who were “still thinking about it” or waiting to confirm with parents end up calling back when their preferred city is full, their preferred specialization is taken, or the commencement date they needed has passed.

This happens every cycle. Not occasionally — every cycle.

If you are a student in Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Ibadan or Port Harcourt reading this and wondering whether to register now or wait — we want to be straightforward with you. The students who secure their spot first are the ones who get their preferred format, their preferred start date, and their preferred area of specialization. The ones who wait often have to compromise on one or all three.

Your SIWES is happening regardless. The question is what you come out of it with.
